Biggest error people make when writing their job applications

What is the biggest error people make when writing their job applications and talking in their job interviews?

Well there are several, but at the moment, time and time again, I come across people who are not using the language of the organisation or the job description.

You need to talk the language of the organisation - rather than your own words if they do not match or fit the organisation.

For example, if the organisation is constantly talking about innovation in their descriptions of themselves and the role, then talk about your strengths in regards to innovation ... not just say you have good communication skills or whatever more general attributes you may talk about.

 Three key job interview tips

  1. Use their language in the job description.
  2. Use their language in the description of the organisation.
  3. Use their language in the essential criteria.

I hope I have made my point clear!
